Celebrity Wedding Food Favorites

With the announcement of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's recent engagement, we're inclined to reminisce on other celebrity weddings and the food they served.

Although Hollywood weddings may not last long, the memories of them will last forever.  Here are a few of our favorite food items served at celebrity weddings:

Billy Joel & Katie Lee
When Billy Joel married Katie Lee, he was lucky to get access to all the incredible recipes she has stashed away. They used her recipe for rosemary biscotti as wedding favors for their guests. They gave each guest a few pieces, tied prettily with a ribbon, along with the recipe. Because biscotti are traditionally served with coffee, you may want to go with a sweeter, no flour, chocolate biscotti or hazelnut biscotti.

Rebecca Romijin & Jerry O'Connell
Instead of a ho-hum wedding cake that many guests wouldn't even touch, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell served mini red velvet cupcakes. These rich, chocolate cupcakes are dyed to a deep red, making them very elegant. If chocolate isn't your thing, try apple or coconut cupcakes.

Victoria & David Beckham
Victoria and David Beckham opted for David's favorite dessert at their wedding reception: sticky-toffee pudding, a well-liked British dessert treat. The dish is made with sponge cake, then topped with dates and a sweet toffee sauce.

Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Wilkerson
Melissa Joan Hart and guitarist Mark Wilkerson took a different approach to their pasta dish. Instead of plain old spaghetti, they went with zucchini stuffed with penne alfredo. Offering guests a vegetarian dish is always a good idea. You can also try stuffing zucchini with parmessan and tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic and chives, or mushrooms.

Even if you're not a celebrity you can still dine like one at your wedding.  Authentic Flavors Catering
recipe repertoire is chock full of celebrity style wedding recipes that can easily be transformed to fit your San Diego wedding.  Give us a call for a tasting.
