What to Serve Fussy Eaters

It’s always tricky when it comes to creating the right menu if some of your guests have a restricted diet or are fussy eaters.  The good news is that this is a challenge we face and defeat all of the time!

Here are some suggestions to make those hard to please people really happy:

  • First of all, make sure that you ask your guests to let you know well in advance if they have any food allergies or dietary restrictions.  You don’t want to be stressed by people telling you on the day that they can’t eat anything on the menu.
  • A buffet is a simple solution if you have a mixture of carnivores, vegetarians and people who just have particular dislikes.
  • If a lot of children will be attending, consider offering a kids’ menu.  Children often turn up their noses at things they haven’t seen before so stick with the simple options – pizza, burgers and fishcakes.
  • The same principle applies if you have friends or family who are notorious for being less than adventurous when it comes to what they eat.  The easy thing to do is have two options for each course, with one being a plain and simple choice.
  • Go for a menu that has a higher number of smaller courses so your guests won’t starve if they don’t like one or two of them.  Tapas is a great idea as it offers a lot of small dishes with an amazing array of tastes.

If you’re worried about pleasing everyone on your guest list, tell us what your requirements are and we’ll work out a fantastic menu for you.
